You will find the German spoken in Switzerland very different from other German dialects, even within the country words and structures change as well as the sounds used to pronounce the same words! Best of luck. Viel spass.

true, but he'll do better with a different dialect than no german at all.

when you have the basics it's time to get into the local flavor though....
