heyhey sean! nice site you have got! I would like to get involved! Anyway, I have got a suggestion. As there are many variations in Chinese languages, I think you may consider splitting "Chinese" into parts. You can actually refer to the setting in Facebook. 1. Chinese (Mandarin) 2. Chinese (Cantonese) 3. Chinese (Other)

Hi! I speak some Mandarin Chinese and English. I hope more people will come here, and also that they can separate the different dialects for chinese.

So, I was wondering how you say the year 1996 in Mandarin. When I learned years, we learned from 2005 "er ling ling wu" but I know in English we would say "nineteen ninety six" not "one nine nine six" thanks!

It is the same as the way you pronounce 2005 (but you should add "NIAN" after "ER LINGLINGWU"). 1996 (YI1 JIU2 JIU3 LIU4 NIAN2)

Hello Sean, Rassami told me about your site and I registered straight away. I will tell all my students at Uni to come and have a look. Shaomin (Rassami's Skype teacher)

Ni Hao. Well I've signed up on Lee's recommendation. Looks quite good so far. I particularly like the no adverts - keep that up as long as possible. I would also echo the suggestion of breaking chinese down, since the dialects differ so much.
