Finns det någon anledning att lära sig svenska?

Jo! Då kan man prata med Christine L på hennes hemspråk. Eller hemsprak på dataspråk.

Ehm.. hi to everyone! Is anyone here that would like to teach me a bit of swedish? :D

I'm an italian guy of 24, and i'd like to learn your language in order to have (perhaps in future) the possibility to leave my terrible country (i guess you always know Mr. Berlusconi and his friends)..

If you're interested, please answer me.. ;)

See you

Well, the answer to your question to a large extent depends on yourself. Most of my students either have a Swedish partner or want to study in Sweden, so that's their reason. Sweden still have a fairly generous that's open to foreigners.

However, if you're talking in general terms, there are still some good reasons. Swedish might not have that many speakers, but the country and its culture is well-regarded over the world. The culture and people a language gives you access to is sometimes more important the the number of speakers.

Also, Swedish is understood by many speakers of other Nordic languages whereas the opposite is not equally true. So knowing Swedish also gives you a limited access to the Finnish, Norwegian, Danish, Faroese and Icelandic cultures.

Sorry, I meant to write: 'a fairly generous education system'
